Dane County Bar Association

Membership Information

Persons who are licensed to practice law in Wisconsin who live or practice (or formerly practiced) law in Dane County and lawyers who are members of the faculty or staff of the University of Wisconsin Law School are eligible for membership in this Association.

Our dues are $50 for new attorneys (admitted to practice since January 1, 2007) and for first-time members and retired attorneys and judges, and $60 for all other attorneys and judges. These dues support a variety of professional, community and fellowship activities, including the following:

  • A monthly newsletter covering local bar and courthouse issues and events;

  • bi-weekly luncheon meetings, most for CLE credit;

  • access to the Association's group health insurance program;

  • a case mediation program staffed by volunteer attorneys;

  • public education and outreach projects;

  • pro bono opportunities;

  • various social events; and,

  • a new lawyer program, pairing current members with new members to provide opportunities for early and full participation in the association's many activities.

If you currently are a member of the Association, we value your membership and thank you for helping make activities such as those mentioned a success. If you are not now a member, click here for a PDF form which you can complete, print out and mail as directed; or contact us by email and request that we send you a membership form; then join us in our efforts to contribute something extra and special to our community and our profession in Dane County.
